ISO 9001:2015 Transition Training

The new version of the ISO 9001 Standard features an altered structure and new requirements – including the concept of risk-based thinking – to reflect how increased globalization has changed the way business is done. This course is for individuals who are already familiar with the ISO 9001:2008 Standard and are involved in transitioning their company to ISO 9001:2015, including planning, implementation and supervisory activities. It is also ideal for auditors who will be auditing to the new standard.
The course covers:
- Changes to the standard and their impact on a company’s Quality Management System (QMS) and Internal Audit Program
- The Annex SL framework (organizational context, leadership, planning and support)
- Methods for meeting and auditing new requirements, including risk management and organizational knowledge
- The business approach on how to use your ISO 9001-based QMS to benefit the performance of the company
Participants will be able to identify gaps in their company’s current QMS and be prepared to plan the transition to the ISO 9001:2015 revision.
Prerequisite: Substantial knowledge of ISO 9001:2008 and key principles of a QMS

Instructor Bio: Don Bowes, CLP, CSSGB
Don Bowes, a Certified Lean Professional and Certified Six Sigma Green Belt, has been a project leader for UB TCIE since 2001. Mr. Bowes provides training, management system development & implementation consulting, internal auditing services and procedure-writing assistance on a range of ISO-based Standards including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, AS 9100, ISO 13485, ISO/TS 16949, ISO 22000 and OHSAS 18001. He is an ISO 9001 and Quality Management Systems RABQSA Certified Auditor, an ISO 14001 and Environmental Management Systems RABQSA Certified Auditor, an OHSAS 18001 and Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems Qualified Auditor, and an Intertek Certification Services Approved Food Safety Consultant. His client base covers a broad scope of industries including food, petroleum, chemical, steel fabrication, printers, distribution, industrial/automotive/military equipment manufacturers, plastics, waste management, transportation, construction and chemical product suppliers.
